Add-ons

How to buy extra AI credits and extra team seats, and the difference between a recurring add-on and a one-off credit purchase.

Add-ons raise the limits of the plan you are on without moving you to a higher plan. There are two kinds: extra AI credits and extra team seats. You buy both in Settings, Usage and billing, and the prices are listed in Plans. Add-ons are available on paid plans only, not on the Free plan.

Buying an add-on

  1. Open Settings, Usage and billing and click Manage add-ons on your subscription card.
  2. Choose the add-on and set the quantity under How many?. For credits, choose under How often do you want this? whether the purchase should repeat every month (see below).
  3. Click Confirm. Before you do, the dialog shows the net price and, for a recurring add-on, how your monthly subscription total changes.
  4. The card on file is charged. If your bank asks for authentication, complete it in the window that opens.

The new limit applies to your current billing period as soon as the payment is confirmed. You do not have to wait for the next renewal.

Every month, or just this billing period

Credit add-ons come with a Every month / Just this billing period toggle:

  • Every month adds the credits to your subscription. You are charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current period straight away, and the full amount with every renewal after that. The credits are granted again at the start of each period.
  • Just this billing period is a single purchase. The credits land in the period you are in, the charge happens once, and nothing repeats. Use it when an unusually busy month has drained your allowance and you do not want a permanent increase.

One-off credits behave like the rest of your allowance: they are used first-come, first-served, and whatever is left at the end of the period does not carry over. The option is unavailable when your account has no current billing period, since there would be nothing to add the credits to.

Seat add-ons are always recurring. There is no one-off seat.

If a bank authentication window appears during a one-off purchase and you close it without finishing, nothing is charged. You can start the purchase again; the abandoned attempt is discarded.

Reducing or removing an add-on

A reduction takes effect at the end of the current billing period, not immediately. You keep the seats and the credits you have already paid for until then, and the smaller amount is charged at the next renewal. Nothing is refunded, because nothing has been taken away early.

A reduction in seats is refused if it would leave your seat limit below the number of people who currently have access. The error message tells you how many people you need to remove first (see Team members).

Add-ons and your invoice

An increase bought mid-period generates its own payment for the prorated amount, so you will see it in the payment history alongside the regular monthly charge. A VAT invoice is issued for it in the same way as for the subscription itself (see Invoices and payments).
