Changing your password

How to update the password for your Fibly account.

You change your password under Settings, Password. The operation requires knowing your current password; if you don't remember it, use the recovery feature described at the end of this article.

How to change your password

  1. Open Settings, Password.
  2. In the Current password field, enter your existing password.
  3. In the New password field, enter the new one (minimum 8 characters).
  4. Repeat the new password in the Confirm new password field.
  5. Click Save.

New password requirements

  • minimum 8 characters,
  • must not be identical to the previous one.

We recommend using a password manager (e.g. 1Password, Bitwarden, Apple Keychain) to generate a strong password and remember it for you.

What happens to active sessions

Changing your password does not sign you out of other devices where you have the Fibly dashboard open. If you suspect that someone unauthorized has access to your account, after changing your password:

  1. Sign out of every browser you work in.
  2. Enable two-factor authentication, if you aren't using it yet.

I don't remember my password

If you don't remember your current password:

  1. Sign out and open the login screen.
  2. Click the "Forgot password" link.
  3. Enter the email address you registered your account with.
  4. Open the message you receive from Fibly and click the link.
  5. Set a new password on the screen that opens.

The link is valid for 30 minutes. After that it expires and you'll need to start over.
